My HDL is 62, LDL is 116, total cholesterol 199. Should I be concerned?

I got a blood chemistry screening at a health fair, and the only result they flagged was my LDL (116). My father has always had high cholesterol despite being an exercise nut, and my mother has always had very low cholesterol. I understand that HDL above 59 is beneficial, but is it enough to counteract the risks of my higher LDL? My total cholesterol/HDL ratio is 3.2, triglycerides 104, VLDL 21.

I run and/or walk twice a week and eat a vegetarian diet, but I love cheese and ice cream. Do I need to add a third workout to my week and cut back on the dairy, or are my numbers good enough?

13year old girl serious about dieting & boosting metabolism, I need a good diet plan?

im a 13 year old girl, 5'1 and 90 lbs. YES i am very aware i am not overweight. that's because i went on a crash diet for about 6 months. but now my metabolism is slow and messed up. i really need help boosting it with out the extreme weight gain. so if anyone will be nice enough to give me info and write me a good schedule for eating that would be fantastic! :) this is what im eating now, i dont know if its good though...

6:00am-Breakfast: big bowl of honey nut cheerios(330) with 1 cup of skim milk(90k) and a light&fit yogurt(60k)
9:00am-Snack: 90 calorie chewy quaker bar
12:30pm-Lunch: fiber1 yogurt(50k), apple slices(30k), 1/2 cup of blueberries(40k), juice box(100k)
3:00pm-big bowl of honey nut cheerios(220) with 1/2 of skim milk(50k)
5:30pm-Dinner: mini can of tuna(no mayo)(80k) with steamed veggies; broccoli, collie flower, and carrots(45k)
Total: 1,190 calories.

is that enough?
am i eating healthy?
what should i change?

EXERCISE: i dont really have time for exercise. the only exercise im doing is walking up and down stairs in school and walking from class to class. but i do own a stair master...if i have time at least 4 times a week to use it ill use it for 5 minutes then do 200 jumping jax, 15 push ups and 40 crunches. is that enough exercise?

well, firt off that is a very good weight! i mean if your that shortish you are a cute weight!
secondly: more muscle it will help you have a faster matabolism
heres my schedule it works!:
excersize(2-4hours daily)
50-100 crunches
20-50 situps
200 jumping jacks
get a hobby like cheer, dance(extreme), or gymnastics works!
if you would rather attend those classes, do like me and just practice them for fun, at home
100-200 squats
running boosts it up!

now eating:
your eating is good enough protein, good calories, and it is healthy!

Trying to look for a movie title, older black comedy spoof film?

Okay so my brother and I use to rent this movie all the time. It wasn't popular and probably was a independent film or low budget comedy. I believe it started off in Italy about a family. I think it must of been a love story about a young boy trying to find his way. There were lots of black humor/dark humor moments like when the little boy travels to get out of the country (?) inside a donkey's ***. I remember him finding his way to say goodbye to his love (a little girl) on the end of a dock before he left. There was also another scene where a man continually is trying to get to another character in the movie to shoot him (?) and somehow he keeps hurting himself; accidentally shooting off his thumb and other parts. The last part I remember was a funeral, but that's it. I'm pretty sure the movie was in English but it could of been a foreign film (possible nudity). I think the movie must of been made in the 90's?

If anyone has a clue what it is called please let me know!! I've been trying to find it forever to give to my brother. It was very hilarious and off hand.

I REALLY need help with this... going to go crazy!?

Well, Here goes...
Basically I'm going to try (and fail) and cut a long story short... My friend and I moved to different schools two/three years ago and I have become SO miserable without him. I think about him every single day, I cry from missing him, I even have imaginary conversations with him, I talk in my head to him and imagine what he would say. The only way I have of getting in contact with hiim is, I know where he lives and I know what school he goes to. There about three miles away from my home. It doesnt sound far, but my school finishes half an hour later than all the other schools in the area (sadly), and I dont have any transport, my bikes broken. The walk takes about 45 mins, and seeing as i'll have to walk there and back, it'll take a good while. I once waited outside his school when I had a day off, and I saw him but I was on the phone at the time and he was with really scary-looking mates, seriously, like six-foot guys (you know how it is when your a teenage girl and feeling intimidated by scary looking six foot guys), and they'dve all turned around and laughed if I called out to him. I was on the phone and i dont think he'd've liked to inturrupt my conversation (I wouldnt mind, but he doesnt know that). At the last moment when we were quite far away, he turned round and saw me, and looked at me like he couldnt quite believe it. Then his mates gave him a little push and he had to carry on walking, then he reached his house. I have NO idea how to re contact him. Its like I'm fixated with him. Whenever I remember my old school, its like he was the only one there. I immediately think of what HE was doing instead of what I was trying to think about. Example "Oh yes, Fourth Year... I remember we had a pencil shavings fight in maths and got a detention for when we did our maths homework in english... Hang on, I was trying to think of what project I did for geography that year..." . He wasnt my only friend at that school, I had many more, but he WAS my only male friend. We were quite close, good friends, definately. On the verge of being best friends. I dont think of him in a romantic way, really, just in a friend kind of way. I'm more lonely now, because I dont really get on with girls my age, and I go to a girls school... so I do have friends there but not very close friends. The friends from my old school have changed much, so I just think of him. ALL THE TIME. Please can you think of a way for me to get in touch with him. I daren't knock on his door because his mum is a teacher at my school and she hates me and gives me loads of detentions. I cant write a letter because I dont have his full adress, i just know WHERE it is, but not the official details. Hand-delivering wouldnt work because I'm never in that area of town and like i say, no transport. I've asked people for his number and email adress but noone knows. AND HE DOESNT HAVE FACEBOOK OR TWITTER . What CAN i do? Thanks

I dumped my ex 2 months ago. Since then we did not speak at all but he kept me on his facebook despite the way I broke up with him which was not very nice.During our relationship he was very possessive and controling and was trying to tell me what Im going to do with my house, money etc.

I'm scared to donate my organ to my relative...any info on this situation that can help me?

My mom has kidney failure. She works in healthcare so she encounters patients with this same condition. She is diabetic, has high blood pressure and is overweight. She doesn't exercise or eat healthy.

My dad was willing to donate his kidney but he's not compatible. I am a healthy young girl and know I would be a better match since I am related to her (same genetics). I am so angry with her that she could have prevented this situation. If she controlled her diabetes, ate a better diet and exercised, then she wouldn't be in this situation. Am I wrong to say that she could have prevented this?

I don't want to donate my kidney because what if I have a health problem in the future. I heard that if you want kids, then you need both kidneys..is that true?

I know she is my mom but I am so scared and can't even take getting my blood drawn. How can I physically/emotionally handle going under sugery and having one less organ as the outcome? Am
I being selfish?

My older sister is going to be worked up and see if she if compatible donor. She is not as physically healthy as me. She has gain weight over the pass years and doesn't exercise as well. What if she is not compatible. I will have to decide if I want to have childs or donate my organ to my mom. This decision is very stressful for me. Help me out.

An unhealthy person like your mom could probably live an extra 5 years with a donated kidney so hopefully your older sister will be a compatible donor. If not, perhaps you could then let yourself be tested to see if you are compatible and if you are also an incompatible donor then you don't have to make the decision whether to donate or not. If you turn out to be compatible you could then request some time to make a decision (like a few weeks perhaps) and do all the relevant research, including discussions with doctors or hospital staff and other relevant people, before you make a decision.

Besides you and your sister if your mom has any brothers or sisters perhaps they might be compatible and perhaps they should be tested before you are tested as you are perhaps too young to donate a kidney with most of your life still ahead of you whereas an aunt or uncle (sister or brother of your mom) are probably halfway through their lives.

In Britain the climate is not as good as some other nations, whilst the population is largely urban based and fluid in that they are constantly moving from area to area for job promotion and other such reasons, giving little chance for community to flourish.

If you go to most modern cities you will not see the same levels of community as in more rural settings, and the pressure of modern work means that people see there families less, with the British working the longest hours in Europe.

In essence, if you want to score highly in that study you should live in a small rural farming community in a country that has a sunny climate, and not a modern business orientated urban setting.

Weight loss question. When you do not have the time to excersise?

I have a daughter that has had a liver transplant and cannot go to any kind of gym daycare or out to parks because of the germs. I have about 20 excess pounds from being pregnant with her and cannot seem to drop it. I do not have time or opportunity to get to the gym and I am at the hospital stuck in a room with her about 50% of the time. PLEASE does anyone have any suggestions or know of any diet pills I can take to try to lose this weight??? Pills that actually work that is? Please help.

Take a couple walks through the hospital if it is ok to leave her room. As for pills, I took Phentermine and you need a doctors prescription. Doctors only will prescribe it if you need to lose at least 20 pounds. You want to lose 20, but your doctor might not see it that way. They are expensive if you don't have insurance that will cover it. I wouldn't take anything over the counter. And thats because I have tried at least 4 OTC weight loss meds and they did nothing. Phentermine really decreases appetite, but you develop a tolerance in a matter of a couple months and it will no longer work. So you need to try your best to do some exercise, even if it's only once or twice a week. Otherwise you won't lose all 20 pounds and the effect of the drug will wear off. Hopefully your daughter will be healthier then, and you can get out for some walks. God bless and good luck. I wish the best for your daughter as well.

I need help naming my vampire story.?

My story is about a girl named Sapphire who is a half vampire. Her father slept with a mortal woman who died when she was born. Sapphire and her brother Jonathan had moved from state to state trying to stay hidden from the Charlatans, the head vampires with a secret. Sapphire was almost raped and has forever shied away from boys and others. Well once they find friends of their dead fathers she starts to find herself again and falls in love with a werewolf. however the boy who almost raped her was turned by the Charlatans and now he is attacking her and scaring her. In the end her love says her. That's kind of the gist of it. If ya'll need more of an idea here's an piece of it.
This is Jon and her meeting the pack with Eliza, Lucas, and William. Their new family.

I'm currently 133 pounds, and I have been trying to lose 10 pounds for quite some time now. I eat either oatmeal or cheerios at breakfast every day, small salads at lunch and dinner, and only occasionally indulging in a small amount of candy, or a fiber one bar at night. Can i travel to EU or schengen with a Greek Visa?

I have a russian friend,he has a national (not schengen) visa type d for study in greece,but would like to travel around europe. On his visa there is written "valid for greece only"
What should i do? I know that he should have a permission of residence.
Here in Italy when you got visa for long staying,it is enough that within 8 days since your arrival you go to police and they give you this residence permission,but he told me that in greece it is much more long and complex. Can it be that in different european countries things are so different? Maybe they didn't give him the right infos?

Okay, so I would say about a year ago I was walking through this place, kinda of like a little neighborhood. It was obviously a foreign country, but in my dream I thought it was Italy (which i've been to twice). Then today, I was looking through my friend's facebook, and saw a photo that looked EXACTLY like the place I saw in my dream. It was very specific though, the way the buildings and houses were made was so specific, it looked like nothing but rocks everywhere, on the houses, the ground, etc. It turned out to be Mexico. But anywyas, this has happened to me before but I usually just dismissed it. Also, something even more surreal happened to my husband. He once told me that he had a dream about his friend at a funeral, standing in front of someone's casket, and about a week later his friend passed away, and he saw the exact same thing in his dream, instead the guy standing in front of the casket was his friend's brother, who happened to look exactly like him.

You need to first ask your parents about this, because it takes a lot of driving, and a lot of the time, if you are extremely serious about this. You need to be home schooled. Below are your questions and the answers to them. :-)

Q: Do they give you a script, or do you have to get it somewhere else, if so, where do you get it?
A: You get it at the audition, usually, but sometimes the script is sent to you. (Read the other questions and answers and you will understand where it is sent from.)

Q: Do you have to be experienced to be an actress?
A: Not really, but it's good to do a few community theatre plays and professional theatre to beef up your resume. Also, local commericals look GREAT on that ole resume!

Q: How do I meet Selena Gomez?
A: This has nothing to do with the acting business, but okay, ha ha! You need to check in newspapers and online to see when she is making appearances, and you could maybe meet her. A: LOL, no hun, not a website. You need to get with an agent. An agent finds you auditions and will send you on them if you qualify. Traveling will most likely be required, so that is why you need parent involvment, and also you cannot go to an audition without a parent if you are under 18. You can find an agent by having your parents look in newspapers, online, etc. But make sure they DON'T ask for money. If they do it is a scam. Agents earn 10% of your paycheck, that is IT. And classes aren't really required, so that is usually a deal braker, but look into it more. It's possible the agency is just different if they require classes.

ROME (Reuters) – An Italian scientist says he has reproduced the Shroud of Turin, a feat that he says proves definitively that the linen some Christians revere as Jesus Christ's burial cloth is a medieval fake.

The shroud, measuring 14 feet, 4 inches by 3 feet, 7 inches bears the image, eerily reversed like a photographic negative, of a crucified man some believers say is Christ.

"We have shown that is possible to reproduce something which has the same characteristics as the Shroud," Luigi Garlaschelli, who is due to illustrate the results at a conference on the para-normal this weekend in northern Italy, said on Monday.

A professor of organic chemistry at the University of Pavia, Garlaschelli made available to Reuters the paper he will deliver and the accompanying comparative photographs.

The Shroud of Turin shows the back and front of a bearded man with long hair, his arms crossed on his chest, while the entire cloth is marked by what appears to be rivulets of blood from wounds in the wrists, feet and side.

Carbon dating tests by laboratories in Oxford, Zurich and Tucson, Arizona in 1988 caused a sensation by dating it from between 1260 and 1390. Sceptics said it was a hoax, possibly made to attract the profitable medieval pilgrimage business.

But scientists have thus far been at a loss to explain how the image was left on the cloth.

Garlaschelli reproduced the full-sized shroud using materials and techniques that were available in the middle ages.

They placed a linen sheet flat over a volunteer and then rubbed it with a pigment containing traces of acid. A mask was used for the face.

PIGMENT, BLOODSTAINS AND SCORCHES

The pigment was then artificially aged by heating the cloth in an oven and washing it, a process which removed it from the surface but left a fuzzy, half-tone image similar to that on the Shroud. He believes the pigment on the original Shroud faded naturally over the centuries.

They then added blood stains, burn holes, scorches and water stains to achieve the final effect.

The Catholic Church does not claim the Shroud is authentic nor that it is a matter of faith, but says it should be a powerful reminder of Christ's passion.

One of Christianity's most disputed relics, it is locked away at Turin Cathedral in Italy and rarely exhibited. It was last on display in 2000 and is due to be shown again next year.

Garlaschelli expects people to contest his findings.

"If they don't want to believe carbon dating done by some of the world's best laboratories they certainly won't believe me," he said.

The accuracy of the 1988 tests was challenged by some hard-core believers who said restorations of the Shroud in past centuries had contaminated the results.

The history of the Shroud is long and controversial.

After surfacing in the Middle East and France, it was brought by Italy's former royal family, the Savoys, to their seat in Turin in 1578. In 1983 ex-King Umberto II bequeathed it to the late Pope John Paul.

The Shroud narrowly escaped destruction in 1997 when a fire ravaged the Guarini Chapel of the Turin cathedral where it is held. The cloth was saved by a fireman who risked his life.

Garlaschelli received funding for his work by an Italian association of atheists and agnostics but said it had no effect on his results.

"Money has no odor," he said. "This was done scientifically. If the Church wants to fund me in the future, here I am."

My boss is allergic to gluten and dairy, so she is pretty much the same.

She eats a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables and can have brown rice. She can eat fish and any kind of meat.

So you could do a nice roast - just remember he can't have homemade gravy if it's made with flour. (Not sure about ready mixed bisto gravy - you could check it out.) Some kind of meat with veg is fine also - it's probably not wise to serve him any sauce as that tends to have gluten and or dairy in it.

My boss also goes to the health food shop for snacks - make sure you have lots of things he can snack on such as nuts or vegetable crisps.

It may be worth investing in a vegan or special diet/gluten and dairy free cookery book to take the pressure off! Alternatively, try looking up gluten free and dairy free recipes on www.bbc.co.uk/food - good luck!

Get a pasta colander / strainer and place the peanuts inside. Swish the peanuts around and the skins should come loose. You can also rub them between your hands. If you wash the nuts, pat them dry.

Run the food processor for one minute. Scrape the sides to get the mixture back into the bottom of the bowl.

Put the top of the processor back in place. Steadily add the oil and process until the mixture is smooth. This should take you another couple minutes.

He's definitely the best we have right now (I agree about Lil' Wayne). I personally think Tupac was the best rapper ever and then DMX in close second, then Eminem in 3rd. Hey, I'm a 15 year old female and I used to have anorexia. I had it about a year and a half and recently have gotton pretty much threw it. I eat very healthy still and I workout. ( I'm athletic and mainly muscle )
I'm now trying to gain weight back ( muscle ) and be bigger an stronger because I'm a really good athlete.

I eat regularly now. I have been for about 4-5 months. Though I'm still underweight ( I'm 5'7. 117 pounds )

Suddenly I loss my appitite. I'm never hungry anymore really. Since I'm trying to gain weight of muscle, I workout and eat a lot of protein therefore when needing to gain muscle I need to eat a lot more food . However for the last week, I loss my appetite to the point where I'm not even hungry all the time. This never used to happen....a month ago I'd eat like a pig, and when i went out to eat I had no problem eating 2312312 plates of chinese food. but now...I'm just not ever hungry for some reason. This is probably the 5th day of eating around 1,200 calories a day and I know it's not enough but I'm just not hungry at all!!!!! :(

I read that over a long period of time of starving yourself, you loose your appetite pretty much completely. i don't know if that's it or not...I don't see how it could be it since I'm eating good now and have been for around 4 months. I no longer starve myself and i eat constantly.

Why am I not hungry. Any reason a teen like me could loose there appetite? I don't think it could be growing because usually teens are majorly hungry when they grow and this is the oppisite.

Well about the losing appetite thing, that did happen to me. Two summers ago in August I made myself drop 20 pounds. It took less than ten days...went pretty fast. I didn't eat much, nothing at breakfast, one small thing at lunch, and then half of my dinner that night. That was it. I used to be able to eat a lot before that, but now I get full very easily. I've learned to change my eating routine because I get full so quickly. It's a pain...

As for you, I think that happened to you as well. I don't even eat 1200 calories most days. I hardly get up to 1000 I bet. I don't see how someone could eat that much in one day, but I don't think there's anything to do about the appetite loss. I'd just learn to live with it. Eat healthily, and stop eating when you're full. Don't make yourself sick. Just make sure to eat fruits and vegetables and get protein and all that. If you do that, it won't matter that you're not eating as much as you should be, because you're getting all the nutrients you need. I also suggest in addition, you take a daily vitamin, because you're supposed to have like 3 or 4 servings of veggies a day...and seriously? Who eats that much veggies in a day?

I am a surgeon assistant in a major hospital in Chicago.
You would not believe what I see. I see first hand during by-pass procedures, the sludge that is caked up inside the arteries from an individual who consumes a diet saturated with animal fats. The funny thing? In my entire career of 18 years, I have yet to have had the opportunity, if you can call it that, to have a vegetarian/vegan admitted for such a procedure. Food for thought....

I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks w/o cause & had a d&c.
6 months later got pregnant again(took me 5 months) and lost that baby at 23 weeks due to a placental abruption and PPROM(premature rupture of membranes or water breaking) due to my placenta previa.
Now I'm 34w2d and my doctor considers me a high risk pregnancy due to my losses in the past, so he just told me that if my baby is growing perfectly and has a good weight at 38 weeks he will induce me. So far my pregnancy is going great thank God so I was just wondering why he wants to induce if nothing is wrong?

i think it would suit you very well. For your eyebrows go to a hair stylist and get them bleached and get your hair dyed there to so they know the exact shade for your eyebrows and there's not as much chemicles in the dye they use at the salon so it won't damage your hair so bad have a nice day!

Question about periods?

I haven't had a period since around november time last year and even then it was very light and only lasted about 2 days but for 3 years before that i've been very regular and never skipped a period. I'm a 16 year old girl, NOT pregnant, the only thing i can think of that could be causing it is that i lost a stone through dieting but i don't think i'm underweight in fact i think i could afford to lose more (i'm 5'7" and 112 pounds) Do you think it is the weight loss? Or do i need to see a doctor? Should i be worried or could this just be a phase? I can't stand the thought of having to put the weight back on again :(

Low sodium diet/exercise plan?

I am 14 and for the past 5-6 months I've been excessively tired.
I had a sleep study done and the reason why, was because I don't reach all stages of sleep.
Yet I don't have sleep apnea.

Along the way they noticed I had a bit of high blood pressure,even though I'm in my weight class, at 5ft 6in. in height.
I have multiple lab draws per month, such as lipid panels, etc.etc. Testing everything, yet it all comes back as normal.
My family has a history of high blood pressure such as my father who takes medication to control his. He also has some sort of problem with his thyroid.

Today I went in for a EKG and some sort of scan where they put 10 stickers on your body and connect you to a machine.
My EKG came back as perfect.
I also had to meet a kidney doctor, who said he heard murmuring below my belly button, which he thinks could possibly be a narrowing tube to my kidneys, which could also cause high blood pressure.
So I'm to have a ultra sound on my kidneys as well on the 24th.
I'm also to drop off urine samples in the next two weeks because they found my body was throwing out protein.

I've been put on a low sodium diet, I've been limited to 3000mg per day, and I should exercise/play 60min. a day.

Any ideas on what to eat, how much to eat and how to keep track of the sodium I've consumed?
Any ideas for easy exercises to do?
I've never really been much of a sports lover, so... I'm not really sure how to exercise properly other then a brisk walk or jog.

Whey protein shakes and weight loss?

I would like to lose about 80 pounds by next January. I'm apparently going to be a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding.

I was told to get Whey Protein and drink 2 shakes a day. I'm a little scared because I don't want to gain more weight and I don't want to be bulky.

I've been drinking one shake a day with fresh fruit. I try to keep each meal not going over 200 calories and watching the sugar/fat/sodium/carbs in everything. I have snacks between meals too, but that is usually fresh fruits and vegetables. And I bought some the the "Smartpop" popcorn and some rice cakes in case I get sick of the fruit one day. I'm trying to step up my fiber intake and eating more fish also, and only drinking water.

I exorcise about 30 minutes on a gazelle each morning and at night I'm able to make it to the gym where I currently am running/walking 1 mile and doing curls with lighter weights to stay tone and not have giant arms. Every couple of nights I try to up myself with the running and walking to make it more challenging. I usually make it to the gym about 5 nights a week.

Do you have any other tips for me? Or an opinion about the Whey protein?

I agree with Jasmine's suggestion of buying an item of clothing which is the size you want to be, trying them on every 1-2 weeks any noticing the difference on how far you can get them up.
I did this and it did motivate me, as every 2 weeks the jeans were actually beginning to go up my thigh and not just get stuck on the knee!!

I also imagined myself in different situations. I'd sit/lie in a quiet, dark room and imagine myself the same as I was, but thinner. I'd imagine myself coming out the car, going shopping, being at a party, being on the beach in a black bikini, walking in the countryside, all different places. In my quiet zone, I could focus on my emotions, I'd feel so good walking on the beach in a size 8 bikini, with a flat stomach and toned legs.

Think of it as a lifestyle change, something you're going to follow forever.

Go to her house and invite him over just to hang! Or you can invite him and a couple other people, as not to seem that it's just him. A really fun thing to do (and an easy way to start flirting!) is have a water fight. It may sound lame, but with a lot of friends it's really fun! Go to your friends house and plan a water fight. Maybe invite other people from around her neighborhood including him, of course. Just try to plan some group activities, it always works. Once the tension breaks, start inviting fewer and fewer people until, hopefully, it's just you and him!

Hi! Okay, here is a good plan. I suggest it to everyone because it's not scary, strict, difficult, or dangerous. It helps you lose weight at a good pace and become more fit and healthy.

1. Find out how many calories your body currently burns on a daily basis/how many it needs.Using the calculator on freedieting.com and assuming that you are FEMALE, I found that you burn 1456 calories a day without doing anything. You should probably do a 500 calorie deficit, so subtract 500 and you get 956 calories. You should have between 956 and 1056 daily.
2. Start exercising. Go on a 20-30 minute brisk walk every day. Do 30 sit-ups. Do 20 push ups.
3. Eat organic foods, eat high protein, don't eat any wheat products.
4. Drink a minumum of 5 water bottles a day.
5. Talk a multivitamin, calcium, and Omega-3 Fatty Acids. They're good for fat burn.
6. Snack on veggies and fruits... more veggies, though, because fruit has lots of sugar.

I am from Brazil and i have been living in canada since 2007 and i will move back probably in 2011, everyone said canadians respected and liked people from other countries. But im finding it very different, when i say i am from brazil people always say bad stuff about it, deforestation, slums , poverty, dangerous places, polution etc... LIKE WHAT THE F*CK?!!? And if someone says they are from the middle east i never see them critisizing about terrorists and all that stuff... do canadians not like brazil? if you think brazil is a poor country here are some facts

(1) The GDP of Brazil is 2.02 trillion Dollars, the 8th largest in the World. Largest than Canada and Italy, two G7 members;

(2) Brazil has a well developed industry that makes almost all that we Brazilians need;

(3) Brazil has 15% in high class and 51% in middle class;

(4) No more than 6% of all Brazilians lives in the slums;

(5) Even 95% of the homes in the slums has TV and refrigerator, 68% has DVD Player/recorder, 48% has washing machine, 12% has computers. The percentual In middle & high class is 100% in all of these items;

(6) Brazil exports less than 10% of the GDP, so, Brazilians sustain their own economy. More than 90% (1,8 trilion Dollars) is Brazilian money;

(7) Brazilian government gives the text/exercise books and laptops for free to any student;

(8) Brazil has it own space programm with Brazilian technology and money;

(9) Many Brazilians in middle class, and all in high class has a life of dreams just in their own country. They don't need money from any foreigner. Much less from a country sank in a economic crisis;

(10) Brazilian women are independant. More than 50% of the families has a woman as chief;

(11) Where you can find a rich foreigner guy? In the nations with no money like that where the crisis was originated (Europe and USA)? I don't believe; and,

(12) What kind of Brazilian women you know: that ridicule stereotypes in the movies (brown spanish speakers with names not used in Brazil like Dolores, Lupita and others, who goes to USA working as cleaner/maid looking for a green card) or these kind of REAL BRAZILIAN WOMEN:

I don't think they meant to offend you, every country (including Canada) has its flaws and it doesn't hurt to recognize them, and Canadians seem to have much more respect for the environment than we do down here so them worrying about deforestation in the amazon is logical (I mean who's not worried about that?) Your country has achieved a lot, but it's still not a 'developed' country yet.

Yes Brazil has a larger economy than Canada (& maybe Italy on PPP terms), but it's gdp per capita (around $9,500) is still far below Canada's ($38,000) and Italy's ($30,200). But it's higher than China and India's. Not to mention it's apart of the BRIC (which you forgot to include).
