Honda recall: 46,000 Fit Sports recalled from 2012-2013, There is a huge Honda recall that is bring about 46,000 Fit Sport vehicles back in both the United States and Canada. The Honda recall was reported by the Associated Press on April 26, 2013, and has to do with a problem with the electronic stability control system.
Only about 2,000 of that large number are for the Honda recall in Canada. The rest are spread across the U.S.
The Honda recall affects vehicles from the 2012 and 2013 model years, and the company says that the stability control system will allow the vehicle tilt too far. That system will allow the tilt to happen too far before applying the brakes and preventing a crash.
The defect was originally found in government testing of the Honda Fit Sport models with a particular type of tires.
As of now, Honda has not had any reported crashes or injuries from the defect in these particular vehicles.
Those that own the 2012 or 2013 vehicles in the Honda recall can bring them into Honda dealers to fix. All that the dealers will do is update the system's software, and it will be at no charge to the owner.
