Adkins has been named the only suspect in the case by police and reports at the time indicated Dunn asked him to move out of the home just days after Hailey vanished. Adkins claims he had nothing to do with Hailey's disappearance.
CBS News reports the remains were discovered near Snyder in Scurry County, about 20 miles north of Hailey’s hometown of Colorado City.
According to Fox News, an unidentified person found Hailey’s body near Lake J.B. Thomas.
In early 2011, ReporterNews.com reported a Dell computer was taken from the home of Adkin’s mother in Big Spring. It contained “approximately 108,498 pictures depicting deviant acts.” A memory stick containing “320 images and videos of a pornographic nature,” was found in the master bedroom of the Dunn residence in Colorado City during the investigation. Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs said both the computer and memory stick had images depicting bestiality and child pornography. He noted charges could be filed regarding the find. “We will have to get with the district attorney in Howard County to see if criminal charges are warranted,” Toombs said at the time.
CBS notes that in June 2011, Dunn pleaded no contest for lying to police about Adkin’s whereabouts, who was found at her home. She was sentenced to one year probation after serving 90 days in jail.
Anyone with information regarding Hailey’s case is urged to call the Colorado City Police Department at 325-728-5294.
