Clint Eastwood at age 105: 'I still want to be making films'

Clint Eastwood at age 105: 'I still want to be making films', Clint Eastwood is shooting for a triple digit directing career.

According to MSN Wonderwall April 27, the 82-year-old actor and director still dreams of directing at least two more decades, making Eastwood a centenarian movie maker.

Eastwood has his eyes set on the 104-year-old Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira, and wants to best him by one year.

"It would be great to be 105 and still making films," Eastwood said. Chuckling, he called such a hope "the ultimate optimism."

Eastwood has already surpassed most of his actor-turned-director peers.

Beginning with the thriller Play Misty for Me, Eastwood has directed over 30 films in his career, including westerns, action films and dramas. He is one of a few top Hollywood actors to have also become a critically and commercially successful director.

Eastwood’s portfolio of films include such blockbusters as The Eiger Sanction, Gran Torino, Invictus, Letters From Iwo Jima, Million Dollar Baby and Unforgiven.

According to Life magazine, "Eastwood's style is to shoot first and act afterward. He etches his characters virtually without words. He has developed the art of underplaying to the point that anyone around him who so much as flinches looks hammily histrionic."

Eastwood last directed 2011's "J. Edgar," a biopic of the FBI head J. Edgar Hoover. After acting in last year's baseball drama "Trouble With the Curve," he has several films in development.
