Tsarnaev $100K benefits: Tsarnaev family collected welfare through 2012, The Tsarnaev family collected over $100K in benefits through 2012. On April 30, The Inquisitr reported that the Tsarnaev's were on welfare while they lived in this country. This news is stirring up controversy and discussion across the web today. The family lived in Massachusetts and collected welfare from 2002-2012.
"The benefits the family received from the state of Massachusetts apparently ranged from cash and food stamps to Section 8 housing," The Inquisitr reported. A source said that the amount of money that the family received was "stunning." Tamerlan -- suspect #1 who is deceased -- and his wife, Kathleen Russell also reportedly collected welfare.
The Tsarnaev's $100K in benefits also proved that Tamerlan didn't bring home much money at all. In fact, it was reported that he had little work history. Up until this point, the public knew that Tamerlan stayed home with his 3-year-old daughter while his wife, Kathleen, worked 70-80 hours a week.
It has been reported that the Tsarnaev's claimed "political refugee status" when they came to The States. Even still, some people find it quite interesting and others feel that there is something much bigger involving the Tsarnaev family. This is particularly interesting because the Tsarnaev brothers reportedly drove nice cars... like Mercedes'.
