Jeremy Lin Injured

Jeremy Lin Injured, Jeremy Lin is day-to-day with a chest bruise, and an MRI on Thursday confirmed an earlier X-ray that was negative for breaks, according to TNT's David Aldridge. On Wednesday, Lin didn't play in the second half of the Houston Rockets' Game 2 against the Oklahoma City Thunder because of the injury.

After the game, Rockets coach Kevin McHale said the injury occurred during the game, and Lin added that he didn't know how he injured his chest, according to the Houston Chronicle. Lin played in a small backcourt with fellow point guard Patrick Beverley to start the game, and he scored seven points to go with three assists before struggling to even run out of the tunnel as the second half was about to begin.

Lin remained hopeful after the game that he'd be ready for Game 3 on Saturday in Houston.

If he's not able to play, Houston will miss the ability to play him and Beverley at the same time, a change-up that McHale used to great success in Wednesday's first half that Houston trailed only 57-55. The Rockets eventually fell, 105-102, as Beverley manned the point guard spot in Lin's place.

Still, the small-ball lineup with Beverley and Lin caused matchup issues with Oklahoma City, forcing Chandler Parsons to the power forward slot against the Thunder's starting lineup. Parsons scored nine points in the first five minutes of the game as Oklahoma City's Serge Ibaka struggled to chase him out to the perimeter.

Aaron Brooks would likely receive backup minutes at guard if Lin isn't able to play.
