Sarah Palin, never one to shy away from the use of unconventional words, has embraced a new one — “a--clowns.”
Just hours after the yearly White House Correspondents’ Dinner ended Saturday night, the former vice presidential candidate unloaded a scathing critique of the black-tie party on Twitter in characteristically unusual language.
That #WHCD was pathetic,” Palin tweeted. “The rest of America is out there working our asses off while these DC assclowns throw themselves a #nerdprom.”
Palin has never attended the famous gathering herself, but she has partaken in the related festivities in recent years.
In 2011, she attended a number of after-parties; and in 2009, she declined an invitation at the last minute, sending her husband Todd Palin in her place to the dinner.
The star-studded dinner was hosted this year by comedian Conan O’Brien, who took turns with President Obama poking fun at one another and at the media with a rousing sequence of hilarious barbs.
Political news media players, politicians from both sides of the aisle, as well as a number of celebrities, including actresses Rebel Wilson, Sofia Vergara and Hayden Panettiere gathered for the annual black-tie Washington event.
