New York's '1 World Trade Center' nears completion, New York prepares to celebrate as the last pieces of “One World Trade Center” rises, according to an April 29 report from ABC News.
The finial piece of “One World Trade Center” is said to be a spire that stands over 408-foot tall, and is said to weigh 800-ton. The piece will cap off the building that was constructed to replace the twin towers that fell during terror attacks on September 11, 2001.
Once the spire is in place New York's newest and tallest building will be complete. “One World Trade Center” is reported to be a total of 104-floors, which makes it two floors taller than the famed “Empire State building.”
The completion of “One World Trade Center” is cause for celebration, but it's yet another reminder of the horrifying terror attacks that killed more than 3,000 people on September 11, 2001.
“One World Trade Center” is scheduled to officially open in 2014.
