NJ train explosive: 27-year-old man arrested for carrying fireworks

NJ train explosive: 27-year-old man arrested for carrying fireworks, A NJ train explosive -- actually two explosives -- were found on a 27-year-old man on a New Jersey train eight days before the Boston Marathon bombings. On April 25, Huffington Post reported that Mykyta Panasenko was arrested at a train station in Hoboken, New Jersey with two "improvised explosives" according to police.

After further investigation, authorities concluded that Panasenko was carrying fireworks and said that there was no proof that he was planning on blowing up the transit system or anything else for that matter. His home was searched and there was evidence that he had the makings of a homemade bomb but nothing was put together.

The NJ train explosive incident left Panasenko arrested for the wrong reasons -- but after the Boston Marathon bombings, some people find themselves wondering if there was more to his story than what the media is putting out. It does appear that he has tried to clear his name by commenting on the Huff Post article but there is no proof that the person who commented is really him.

It is unknown if authorities are keeping an eye on him after finding potentially dangerous materials in his house. It's also unknown why he was carrying fireworks with him on a train -- these questions become more serious following the bombings in Boston.

Were the NJ train explosives meant to be something more? Should authorities let Panasenko off the hook completely?
