Boston Marathon: FBI collects evidence from Rhode Island home, FBI agents who are investigating the Boston Marathon bombings reportedly removed evidence from a North Kingstown, Rhode Island home on Monday, according to an article published by the Irish Examiner on April 30.
The home is said to be that of Katherine Russell's parents. Russell is the widow of 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Officials haven't released a list of the evidence that was removed from the home, but it has been reported that FBI agents collected a DNA sample from Russell. Russell's DNA will likely be compared to an unidentified female DNA found at the Boston bomb site.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed in an April 18 shootout with the police in Massachusetts. His brother, 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was also injured in that confrontation, and is currently recovering in a federal prison medical center where he is being held on charges of using a weapon of mass destruction, and with malicious destruction of property resulting in death.
The two men are accused of bombing spectators at the Boston Marathon on April 15. The double blasts went off about four hours into the race killing three people and injuring over 200 more.
